“ Sharing your knowledge is one thing, recycling is the other thing and upcycling, adding more value to the knowledge that you have, that is the best thing! ”
Recycle your expertise and make that difference: Karin Jensma at TEDxRoermond
We recycle plastics, paper, glass, electronics, textiles …. even complete factories. Rather than throwing these away after use, we make them into new ones, reducing or even eliminating waste, preparing for the future. Karin argues that we should do exactly the same with expertise, the skills and knowledge that we’ve gained throughout our lives. We can let our expertise sit idle. But by doing so, we waste it, just like food that we buy or order, but don’t eat. Or we can re-use it, as we do with clothing, paper, glass… and give it a new life. This talk is about the power of recycled expertise. We often don’t realize how time changing our expertise can be. The story of a Dutch fish farmer, sharing his best practices with a colleague fish farmer from Pakistan, says it all. It need only be a few basic tips and tricks that can grow a company, a community, an economy. Karin therefore invites everyone to share their expertise, and make that difference. There are no losers here!
